Cyrus IMAPd refers to the suite of applications based around a common high-performance mail store. These applications include an IMAP Server, a POP3 Server, a LMTP server, various support utilities, and some administrative clients.

Starting with Cyrus 2.2.0 an NNTP server is also included.

Cyrus IMAPd is intended to be run on a system without user logins, though this is not strictly necessary.

CyrusImapd includes CyrusSieve, and requires CyrusSasl.
