Bare newlines is a nono in an RFC822 message. You should first try to fix the software that is causing the problem.

As it happens, the bare newlines-rejection has never been a problem for us.

I have encountered this issue when migrating mail from other mail systems, such as MDaemon for WinNT? , that may not be so fussy about RFC822 compliance. It hasn't been an issue for us post-migration however.

Well, the mail client of an American software vendor, infamous because of its operating system and its behaviour against open standards, seems quite often to use bare newlines, especially for binary attachments. Unfortunately they won't give me the sourcecode so I can't fix it. My question for you: Is there a patch, or even better a setting to suppress the bare newlines check? Any information here is very appreciated!
